What Would Your Life’s “Credits” Include?

By Jeremy Chapman

It’s only natural being pastor of West Campus, which meets in a movie theatre, that I see a lot of movies…or else that’s my excuse as unjustifiable lame as it may be. I, like most movie goers, tend to head out as soon as a movie is done, right when the credits start to roll. I don’t necessarily think there’s anything wrong with that, but I admit it is a gross oversight of those who contributed the most to how good that movie-going experience may (or may not) have been.

In the same way, in our own lives we tend to live life at such a pace that we often fail to recognize those who have added value to it and ultimately make it most worth living. The verse that comes to mind when thinking about this is I Peter 3:15:

"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”

With Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, you should ALWAYS be ready, to anyone who asks, to share the hope that you have. And let’s face it, sometime not only do I need to be ready to share with others, but I also need to remind myself.

With that in mind, I encourage you to take time to reflect. If a movie were made of your life, what would the credits look like? Inspired by a true story…you…and directed by a loving Father…Jesus Christ…what would you acknowledge? What are the defining moments? Who is the supporting cast?

So go ahead, roll the credits for the hope that you have!
